I’ve tried the jelly belly jelly beans, both the grape and the extreme cherry and I really like them. A sip of water to get them down is enough for me. I think most of the energy gels are too sweet, but I only eat half of one when I do eat one (only on runs 10+ miles too). I also think that schedule is a bit crazy because you always need an easier workout the day after a hard track workout, and 12-14 miles is never too easy on the body regardless of pace. Good luck with it though, hopefully your coach knows more about those kinds of things than I do (I’ve only ever coached young children).
The dodgeball tournament looks like fun! It’s neat you all dressed up for it.
Whoever decided to put a group of tiny girl runners against a group of big ol’ football players needed to be dodging that dodgeball! Not a fair game there, but at least you had FUN and you looked cute! :)
i love energy gels for long runs. my favorites are hammer and gu. :) I am not really into fruity flavors coz they make me more thirsty or sometimes they taste like cough syrup. I prefer flavors like peanut butter, espresso and chocolate. :)
I’ve tried hammer gel and don’t like it because of the texture…I hate gel in my mouth! :) I often have Clif Bars for energy before games, though!
